======================================================================= RCS: $Header: a_02_04.txt,v 1.1 94/02/10 16:22:32 hmgr Exp $ ======================================================================= General Information ------------------- This document describes detailed information about the software changes in the A.02.04 version of the HPLC^2D and HPLC^3D ChemStation (DOS Series) software. The revision number convention of the softwares are 'P.AA.II' where : P - Represents the Product number / major revision number link. Versions starting with 'A' are from product numbers that have an identical revision letter. (eg G1304A will always have a revision number A.??.??). It is current APG policy not to change this letter unless the software changes in purpose or function. AA - Represents the major revision number. Changes in this code will typically include significant software enhancements that may require complete revalidation of the system for customers operating in regulated environments. These revisions may also include defect fixes and documentation changes. II - Represents the minor revision number. These revisions correct software defects and are generally isolated in nature probably not requiring revalidation of the system for customers operating in regulated environments. These revisions only include defect fixes. They do not usually have documentation changes. This Revision ------------- This revision is a minor software revision. The changes described are relative to the A.02.02 version of these ChemStations and bring the HPLC ChemStations to the same status as version A.01.02 of the HP 3DCE ChemStation (DOS Series). Further details can be found in the revision history and Software Status Bulletin (SSB) on the supplemental disc of the new version. Operating System ---------------- This revision does not require a change in the operating system. The software runs on MS-DOS Rev. 5.xx and 6.xx and Microsoft Windows version 3.1. Users who design their own report layouts require Microsoft Excel. Revision A.02.04 of the ChemStation is compatible with Microsoft Excel 4.0 and 5.0. Ordering Upgrades ----------------- Upgrades are orderable from HP Analytical Direct (HPAD) in the Americas or through the local representative elsewhere by ordering the following products... G1640A - HPLC 2D single instrument software upgrade for customers upgrading from an existing revision of G1304A to the latest revision. Requires but does not include MS-DOS and MS-Windows. G1641A - HPLC 2D multi instrument software upgrade for customers upgrading from an existing revision of G1305A to the latest revision. Requires but does not include MS-DOS and MS-Windows. G1642A - HPLC 3D single instrument software upgrade for customers upgrading from an existing revision of G1307A to the latest revision. Requires but does not include MS-DOS and MS-Windows. G1643A - HPLC 3D multi instrument software upgrade for customers upgrading from an existing revision of G1309A to the latest revision. Requires but does not include MS-DOS and MS-Windows. G1644A - HPLC 3D data evaluation software upgrade for customers upgrading from an existing revision of G1308A to the latest revision. Requires but does not include MS-DOS and MS-Windows. All these revision upgrades are now US$500 for both US list and reference price. Defect Fixes ------------ The following descriptions highlight the defects that have been fixed in the new revision. For details see the software status bulletin (SSB). ________________________________________________________________________ 1.0 Multiple Chromatogram Display SSB References - KPR #: B400101014, B400099242 Description - When loading multiple signals and displaying them with the signal preferences set to "separated", subsequent zooming operations in the graphics window may produce inconsistent scaling on the y-axes of the individual subwindows. This has been fixed for the screen display as well as the print-out using the "Print Selected Window" menu. ________________________________________________________________________ 2.0 Configuration information in the HPLC ChemStation (DOS Series) SSB Reference - KPR # B400101212 Description - LC analytical column printout omitted decimal place values. ________________________________________________________________________ 3.0 Sequence Summary Report has wrong Sample Amount and Multiplier Values SSB Reference - KPR #: B400100537 Description - Default multiplier and the sample amount values were taken from the method in memory (_DAMethod register) and should have been taken from the actual sample information (ChromRes register). ________________________________________________________________________ 4.0 The ChemStation reports a setup failure when starting the Excel-based Customized Report Designer SSB Reference - KPR #: B400101022 Description - In some configurations, the DDE communication link to the EXCEL customized report designer does not initialize properly when starting the customized report layout designer. This has been noted on networked copies of Excel 4.0 and in Excel 5.0 tests. ________________________________________________________________________ 5.0 Incorrect calculation of Peak Width by the Tangent Method. SSB Reference - KPR #: B400100453 Description - Peak width calculation using the tangent method were calculated incorrectly if the peak baseline is not at or near zero. ________________________________________________________________________ 6.0 Automatic recalibrations lead to incorrect levels in the calibration table under some conditions. SSB Reference - KPR #: 1653070573 Description - If the method's sequence recalibration table was set to Average/Replace for the Retention Times and No Update for the Response Factors levels of -1 would get into the calibration table. ________________________________________________________________________ 7.0 If no printer is configured the reports to screen will not work. SSB Reference - KPR #: B400101204 Description - If no printer is configured the reports to screen will not produce correct headers and footers. ________________________________________________________________________ 8.0 Performance and Noise Report Style. SSB Reference - KPR #: B400100149 Description - Using the 'Performance+Noise' report style will give a "No data found in given range" error message if the defined noise range is > 4000 data points. _________________________________________________________________________ 9.0 Pascal ChemStation Conversion Program. SSB Reference - KPR #: B400101220 Description - The conversion of Pascal ChemStation data files was wrong if the files were acquired using 35900 A/D converters with only the Y signal activated. ________________________________________________________________________ 10.0 Calibration Point Weighting SSB Reference - KPR #: B400101412 Description - Quadratic calibration point weighting did not work (weight was always set to 1 == equal). ________________________________________________________________________ 11.0 Configuration Information in Sequence Summary SSB Reference - KPR #: 1653067132 Description - Sequence Summary printed "%" instead of "ml" for the void volume of the column even if "%" was entered. ________________________________________________________________________ 12.0 Floating Point Exception when loading a new data file SSB Reference - KPR #: B40096362 Description - A Floating Point Exception could occur when a graphics window was displaying a register object that was removed by a new Load Signal operation. ________________________________________________________________________ 13.0 HP1090 DAD configuration reported in the "Verification Test" report SSB Reference - KPR #: B400101097 Description - The report generated during the the Verification Test reported the HP1090 DAD configuration incorrectly.
